PTE Speaking – Question Types:

The Speaking Module in PTE evaluates how effectively you can communicate in English in real-life scenarios. It is designed to assess your pronunciation, fluency, clarity, and ability to organize thoughts logically.

 

  • Personal Introduction – Not scored; 25 sec to prepare, 30 sec to record. Sent to institutions with your score report.

  • Read Aloud – Read short text passages; tests pronunciation and fluency.

  • Repeat Sentence – Listen and repeat sentences; tests listening, memory, and accuracy.

  • Describe Image – Describe a graph, chart, or picture; 25–40 sec response.

  • Re-tell Lecture – Summarize a short lecture in your own words.

  • Answer Short Question – Respond with a word or short phrase to simple questions.

  • Summarize Group Discussions – Listen to a discussion and provide a summary.

  • Respond to Situation – Respond to real-life or workplace situations.
